- Cancel at least 24 hours before departure and your deposit is refunded in full.
1. Who we are
BookToursGozo.com is operated by [BookToursGozo Ltd], a company registered in Malta under number [C 00000], VAT number [MT00000000], with its registered office at [registered address, Malta] ("BookToursGozo", "we", "us").
You can contact us at hello@booktoursgozo.com or [phone number].
2. How BookToursGozo works
BookToursGozo is an online booking platform. We list tours and activities offered by independent operators based on Gozo and Comino ("operators"), and we take reservations for them on their behalf.
The tour itself is provided by the operator named on the tour page. When you book, your agreement for the tour is with that operator. Our agreement with you covers the booking service: showing you the tour, holding your date, taking your deposit and passing your booking to the operator.
We check every operator before they can list tours. Operators must be legally registered businesses, hold the licences the law requires for their activity, and have public liability insurance. We review each tour before it goes live.
3. Making a booking
- Choose a tour, a date and the number of people.
- Pay the deposit shown on the tour page by card. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Your booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email. It contains the meeting point, start time, the balance to pay on the day and the operator's contact details.
The person who makes the booking must be at least 18 and confirms that they are authorised to book for everyone in the group. Please check your confirmation and tell us straight away if anything is wrong.
Because each tour is for a specific date, the 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to many online purchases in the EU does not apply. Our cancellation policy applies instead.
4. Prices and payment
Operators set their own prices. Prices are shown in euro and include VAT where it applies. The tour page shows what is and is not included.
The deposit
To reserve, you pay a deposit online, currently 20% of the total price. The deposit is BookToursGozo's fee for the booking service and is kept by us. It counts towards the total price of your tour.
The balance
You pay the rest of the price (the "balance") directly to the operator on the day, before the tour starts. Your confirmation email tells you the exact amount. Operators accept cash and may also accept card; if you want to pay by card, check with the operator first. The operator may not charge you more than the balance shown in your confirmation for the tour as booked. Extras you buy on the day, such as food or drinks, are between you and the operator.
5. Cancellations and changes
If you cancel
- 24 hours or more before departure: we refund your deposit in full. You owe the operator nothing.
- Less than 24 hours before departure, or if you do not turn up: the deposit is not refunded. You do not need to pay the balance.
If the operator cancels
Operators may cancel because of weather, sea conditions, safety or other circumstances outside their control. If they do, we will contact you as soon as possible and you can choose a full refund of your deposit or a new date.
Changes
To change the date, time or number of people, contact us. We will do our best to help, subject to availability. A change made less than 24 hours before departure is treated as a cancellation.
Full details are in our cancellation policy.
6. On the day
- Arrive at the meeting point on time. If you are late, the tour may leave without you and this counts as not turning up.
- Bring what the tour page asks for and any ID the operator needs.
- Follow the safety instructions of the skipper, guide or instructor. They may refuse to take, or ask to leave, anyone who puts themselves or others at risk, including anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In that case the deposit is not refunded.
- Make sure everyone in your group is fit enough for the activity, can swim where swimming is involved, and meets any age, height or health requirements shown on the tour page. Tell the operator in advance about any medical conditions that may matter.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult unless the tour page says otherwise.
7. Responsibility and liability
The operator is responsible for running the tour safely and as described, for its staff and equipment, and for holding the licences and insurance the law requires.
BookToursGozo is responsible for providing the booking service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for how the operator performs the tour. If something goes wrong with a booking because of our mistake, our liability to you is limited to the amount of the deposit you paid us for that booking.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Maltese law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
We recommend that you have travel insurance that covers the activities you book.
8. Using the website
- Use the website only to look for and book tours for yourself and your group, and not for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not copy, scrape or resell content or listings from the website.
- Texts, photos and design on the website belong to BookToursGozo, our operators or their licensors and are protected by copyright.
- If you leave a review, it must be honest, about a tour you took, and must not contain offensive or personal information about others. We may remove reviews that break these rules.
How we handle your personal data is explained in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with a tour, please tell the operator on the day so they can try to put it right. If that does not resolve it, email hello@booktoursgozo.com within 30 days of the tour with your booking reference. We will reply within 14 days and work with the operator to find a fair solution.
If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may contact the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA).
10. Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country, and you may bring a claim in the courts of Malta or of your home country.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you make your booking applies to that booking.
